Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Good Primer on What Wicca is Really About
For anyone who wants to seriously practice Witchcraft, whether it be in a group or alone, this is a must-have. Janet and Stewart Farrar have given an indispensable resource for rituals, philosophy, and heritage of Wicca. The rituals laid out are descriptive and can be practiced by traditional covens and eclectic groups alike. "Eight Sabbats for Witches" has footnotes giving some very intriguing information. The philosophy is raw and thought-provoking. Subjects such as ethics, sex and the metaphysical aspect of magick is approached wholly and matter-of-factly.
There are those who would feel the Farrars were biased when writing this book, and I find this completely understandable. They were practicing Alexandrian tradition, which to my knowledge is very straight laced and "to the book" in their approach to practice. With understanding of their background, the reader must take the author's opinion with a grain of salt.
Nonetheless, a good bit of their knowledge and experience is written in this book. This book was written before the massive overload of fluff that saturated the new age market, and that's enough reason to give it a serious look. No Wiccan should turn away from this book, because one is sure to get plenty out of it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Witches' Bible
This book is very well written but not what I expected. It would be great for those who either belong to a coven or are wanting to join one. I am a solitary so there is more information than I will ever use or need.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pruchased for my mother!
And she loved it! She has been wanting to get into the craft for ages and I urchased this book for her and she hasn't put it down yet!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - too little information - TOO MUCH PREACHING
This book is great for those who like to be told "exactly" what the think, believe and do. For those of us seeking a more spiritual communion with the divine, pass this book up. There is a lot of information in here, but for my personal brand of spirituality, it comes across as too "preachy" and too condescending for my personal taste. There are far better books out there that deal with the philosophical topics behind spirituality that is "non-christian", and I just HATE to be told that one-way-is-the-only-way. Happy hunting!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Witches don't really have a bible
I was shocked to see the title of this book. Witches just don't have a bible. They have book of shadows, spellbooks, gardening books, almanacs and so on. So I bought this book. It's a good book, except for the title which is very misleading and untrue. Why Janet Farrer calls her book this is anyone's guess.

This year has seen several young companies--including Orbius--offering to harness the power of social networking for business.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

Virgin America formally launches: Last week, Virgin America offered free Wi-Fi on its single Internet-equipped aircraft, My Other Ride's a Spaceship. Today, the service goes commercial ($10 for flights 3 hours or shorter; $13 for longer flights), and the rollout to other planes begins. Virgin has a special URL--http://wifitracker.virginamerica.com/--that takes you to a tracking page showing which flights in progress have Wi-Fi, but they don't yet tell you how to determine whether a given flight you'll be on will offer the service. With 24 planes and a plan to add service one per week, that shouldn't be a problem for long.

Heathrow Airport Coach Link adds Internet service: Icomera, a leading transportation Wi-Fi firm, has added free Wi-Fi to FirstGroup's RailAir coach service that connects Heathrow Airport with Reading in England. RailAir runs every 20 minutes for a 50-minute route. FirstGroup handles 3 million passengers a day across all its routes, which makes it a plum market for future expansion.

Awareness Technologies adds Wi-Fi positioning for laptop recovery: Awareness is the latest firm to partner with Skyhook Wireless to use Wi-Fi positioning to its products, in this case Laptop Cop, software designed to aid in recovery. The software starts at $50 for a 1-year license, with discounts for quantity.
